The Department of Social Development says recipients of the R350 social relief of distress grant need to re-apply.
Following the lifting of the National State of Disaster, the grant will be provided under a new legislative framework.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the grant will be extended for a year from April 2022 to March 2024.

You only have to apply once via this website https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/application/ or the above WhatsApp number and not many times on every channel. SASSA will only process one application received from each applicant

SASSA urges SRD R350 grant clients to re-apply with no automatic continuation
Those who are struggling to re-register on the website must make use of the WhatsApp number 082 046 8553 it is active. Beneficiaries who have already re-applied on the website: srd@sassa.gov.za(link sends e-mail) must not make many applications, as it confuses the system and prolongs the verification and approval phase processes.

How do I change my banking details?
If you are an approved beneficiary of the SASSA SRD R350 Grant and you wish to change your banking details, please submit your ID Number below. An SMS containing a secure link, unique to you, will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during the application.
Click on the link in the SMS and follow the instructions carefully.
Should you select payment into a bank account, please ensure that you are the owner of the account. SASSA cannot pay your grant into another person’s bank account. Should you select the money transfer option via one of the major banks, please ensure that the mobile phone number on which you received the SMS is registered in your name. SASSA cannot pay your grant to a mobile phone number that is registered to another person. Please also note that the new banking details will only be used for future payments, after verification.
