About the company:

The Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education (SITFE) was founded to be a privately owned company, to take the plantation and distribution of sugar in the world trade market. The companies main objective was to educate and promote the sugar cane growing in the south African community.

Thes trust has since improved and helped many people with donations and bursaries. Bursaries have been allocated to more than 10 200 learners throughout its inception and have been heavily involved in the development of learners with special needs.
Fields covered:

Learners need to come from the sugar cane growing communities of Mpumalanga and the Kwazulu Natal region and must be studying or intending to study Agriculture Diploma at Owen Sithole College of Agriculture or Cedara College of Agriculture.
Minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Completed Grade 12 or currently in Grade12
  • From one of the sugarcane growing communities in the provinces of Mpumalanga or KwaZulu-Natal
  • Applied or currently registered to study towards an Agriculture Diploma
  • Studying or intending to study at Owen Sithole College of Agriculture / Cedara College of Agriculture
  • Preference will be offered to learners from disadvantaged families.
