2026 Special Matric Top Achievers Bursary for Finance and Accounting Students

Applications are now open for the 2026 Academic Year FASSET Bursary, aimed at supporting high-achieving 2025 matric learners who plan to pursue Finance and Accounting-related qualifications at public institutions in South Africa.

The Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) is offering this special Matric Top Achievers Bursary to learners who obtained strong academic results and meet the financial eligibility criteria.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the FASSET Bursary, applicants must:

  • Have matriculated in 2025.

  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 75% in the National Senior Certificate (NSC).

  • Come from a combined household income not exceeding R1 000 000 per annum.

  • Be registered or accepted at a public university or university of technology.

  • Be studying towards a qualification in one of the following fields:

    • Economics and Management Sciences

    • Auditing and Taxation

    • Accounting Sciences

    • IT-related qualifications

    • Actuarial Sciences

Bursary Value

The bursary funding is capped at R100 000 per annum for university learners.

The bursary covers:

  • Tuition fees

  • Prescribed textbooks

  • Accommodation

  • Meal allowances

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must submit the following certified documents (not older than six months):

  • Certified copy of the learner’s ID

  • Certified copy of the NSC statement of results

  • Official acceptance letter from the institution

Incomplete applications or missing documents may result in disqualification.

Note: Only learners who completed matric in 2025 will be considered. Any other matric year will be automatically disqualified.

Applications close at 23:59 on 28 February 2026

Applicants who do not receive feedback by 15 March 2026 should consider their application unsuccessful.
