Project Administrator x19 – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

The Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) is recruiting 19 Project Administrators across multiple provinces. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in project administration, financial coordination, and learner stipend management within the education and training sector.

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Fixed-Term)
Salary: R453 142.00 per annum

  12. Regional Manager’s Office – 1 (Johannesburg)

Purpose of the Role

The Project Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical support to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects and programmes. This includes the administration of learner stipend payments and support to Provincial Managers.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:

    • ETD

    • Business Administration / Management

    • Public Administration / Management

    • Human Resources Development

    • Office Administration

    • Project Management or related field

A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) will be an added advantage.

Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years’ administrative experience in a project management environment

  • Experience in:

    • Project coordination and monitoring

    • Financial administration and logistical coordination

    • Learner administration and stipend processing

    • Grant-funded programme administration

Additional Competencies:

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)

  • Experience with database and learner data management systems

  • Knowledge of Skills Development legislation

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

  • Provide administrative support for project coordination and implementation

  • Prepare SCM requisitions for project-related procurement

  • Process and maintain project payment documentation

  • Administer learner stipend payments and verify attendance and banking details

  • Maintain learner stipend and project payment registers

  • Upload documents to the Management Information System (MIS)

  • Coordinate meetings, travel, and accommodation logistics

  • Support project monitoring and evaluation

  • Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports

  • Assist Provincial Managers with project-related administrative tasks
